What is Stem Cell therapy?
Stem cells are specialized cells within your body that have the capacity to heal, re-build and regenerate a wide array of tissues.
Stem cell therapy is a non-surgical procedure that involves extracting stem cells from your bone marrow and injecting them into areas of tissue damage that has been unable to heal on its own. This therapy harnesses the regenerative healing capacity of your body’s cells to accelerate the natural healing process and repair the damage.
Stem cell therapy, and the specialty of Regenerative Medicine, is rapidly evolving with advancements in technology and a better understanding of the application of this incredible therapy based on more than ten years of use in the United States.
It is considered to be the breakthrough, less-invasive, natural healing treatment that has long been needed in orthopedic medicine.
What conditions can be effectively treated with Stem Cell therapy?
- Overuse injuries to joints including ankles, knee, hip and shoulders
- Overuse injuries of muscle tendons and ligaments
- Joint arthritis
- Spine arthritis
- Persistent neck, mid-back, and low back pain
- Pain associated with degenerative disc disease of the spine
More specific injuries treated include:
- Tennis elbow, or lateral epicondylosis
- Golfer’s elbow, or medial epicondylosis
- Carpal tunnel syndrome
- Knee ligament tears
- Shin splints
- Partial thickness rotator cuff tears
- Plantar fasciitis
- Patellar tendinitis or tendinopathy
- Achilles tendonitis
- IT band syndrome
- Hip bursitis, or greater trochanter pain syndrome
What are the benefits of Stem Cell therapy?
The most substantial benefit of stem cell therapy is that is a minimally invasive and non-surgical treatment that works with your body to heal injuries or chronic damaged tissue.
Accelerated healing and regeneration leads to decreased pain that can last for years, or may even be permanent when treating certain conditions.
The recovery time is much different than with surgical procedures. Following treatment patients are able to initiate rehabilitation and return to activity much sooner than with most surgical treatments.
Why should you consider Stem Cell therapy?
If you have been dealing with an acute or chronic injury, persistent pain, or diminished quality of life due to a painful condition, you may be a candidate for stem cell therapy.
When other treatments have not been able to deliver a satisfactory outcome, improve or return the quality of life you desire, then you should consider exploring stem cell therapy.
Are you a candidate for Stem Cell therapy?
Not all patients or conditions qualify for stem cell therapy.
If you are currently being treated for cancer, have been treated in the past for certain types of cancer (such as lymphoma), or have active infection or compromised immune system, you may not be a candidate for this treatment.
Our board-certified physicians conduct a thorough consultation to determine if this treatment is safe and appropriate for your condition.
I see Dr. Tait for IBS and his guidance has made a life changing difference for me! He is very professional and personable as are all of his staff.
I was referred to Dr. Tait by my physical therapist who I was seeing for a diagnosis of piraformis syndrome that just did not want to heal. I was having pain in the lower back and upper rear of my left leg. I was impressed with the personal attention I was given by Dr. Tait -- his willingness to listen and explain without seeming to be rushed. Moreover, I was impressed with his methodical, research approach. That is, rather than rush to conclusion and start with the more "glitzy" intervention, he started with the least intrusive and took things step by step. The office is warm and inviting and the office staff is superb, always friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend Dr. Tait.
After an MRI showed that I had torn tendons in my hip, the physician I was working with referred me to Dr. Jonathan Tait. This was after a year and a half of no resolution after seeing various doctors, as well as trying physical therapy, and other therapies to resolve the pain. Once the MRI was done there were basically two options: Go the surgery route with a lengthy recovery time, or try Platelet Rich Plasma injections to heal the tear. I chose Dr. Tait and Rejuv Medical SW for the PRP injections. After two PRP procedures my hip is healing and the pain has lessened tremendously. I also had nutritional testing done that revealed some deficiencies that definitely were not on the radar from normal blood tests ordered from any routine physical. After 6 months working with Dr Tait I feel tremendous progress has been made with the hip and overall general health and well being. If you want to get to the root of a health challenge, rather than simply mask symptoms, then functional medicine is a path to consider. It is an investment in your health and I recommend Dr Tait as a partner in achieving positive results.
I am delighted to be asked to provide a testimonial for Dr. Jonathan Tait at Rejuv Medical Southwest. For the past few years I was struggling with deteriorating cartilage in both knees and because of that, my back. I went back to my orthopedic surgeon who after listening to my concerns about anesthetics and having observed that many friends had continuing problems with knee surgery he gave me Dr. Tait's name. I telephoned the next day and within a week went in for a consultation and two weeks after that had stem cell therapy followed by physical therapy. Eight months later I am even better that my old self and continuing to improve every day. Thank you Dr. Tait !
I could hardly walk, and standing was very limited to 5 minutes or less, and I was always (even in my sleep) in pain because of my back. I had lost trust in doctors that wanted to put me on the road to recovery by means of surgery and/or pain killers. Dr. Tait was my last hope. It took a lot for me to hand over trust to a whole different kind of treatment, but I gave it to him. He listened carefully to all I had to say, he was compassionate, kind and patient with me. He did not rush me.. He gave me the directions of how we could proceed. Dr. Tait did not disappoint me. Today I am walking, and spending more time on my feet in the kitchen and in my garden. I am so grateful for what he has done for me, I cannot begin to express how grateful. I want to also give thanks to his staff Dawn and Janet who made me feel comforted, and well attended to at all times. For anyone who is in pain, give Dr. Tait a chance. I was blessed to have found out about him, and I hope my words pass to others in need of being relieved from pain. I can't express how much gratitude I have for him. If you're in pain, find out for yourself, give him a chance. I don't believe you will have any regrets.
I was told about Dr. Tait by a friend who had great success from her experience. I went to see Dr. Tait because I was having a lot of pain in both of my shoulders. After having test done Dr. Tait diagnosed the problem as torn rotator cuff muscle in both shoulders and a torn bicep muscle in my left shoulder. We decided on the procedure of PRP. The results are wonderful. I would recommend this Dr. to anyone who is tired of the traditional (now much outdated) method for fixing this injury. Thanks to Dr. Tait & his staff Jeri
